Australia Visitor Visa (Subclass 600) for Philippine Passport Holders

Australia runs the most modern visa process on this list: the Visitor visa (subclass 600, Tourist stream) is applied for, decided and granted entirely online. There's no visa sticker in your passport and no personal appearance for most applicants — your passport is electronically linked to the grant, and airlines verify it at check-in.

Online doesn't mean casual. The application asks detailed questions and expects well-organised uploads; incomplete files are refused rather than queried more often than travellers expect, and the application charge isn't refunded. We prepare the ImmiAccount application with you and structure the evidence the way case officers are used to reading it.

Who needs it

Philippine passport holders need a visa for Australia in all cases — there is no visa-on-arrival and the ETA/eVisitor channels cover other nationalities. Every traveller, including infants, needs their own application.

Document checklist

  • Passport bio-page scan (colour, all corners visible)
  • Completed online application in ImmiAccount
  • Recent photo meeting the digital specification
  • Bank statements for the last 3–6 months and/or bank certificate
  • Certificate of employment with approved leave, or business registration and ITR for the self-employed
  • Latest Income Tax Return (BIR Form 2316)
  • Travel itinerary — flights and accommodation or the confirmed tour booking
  • Evidence of ties to the Philippines: family, employment, property, studies
  • PSA documents where relevant (birth/marriage certificates); invitation letter if visiting family

How to apply

  1. Prepare the evidence set

Everything uploads digitally, so document quality matters: complete statements rather than screenshots, employment letters on letterhead, clear scans. We assemble the set in the order case officers expect.

  2. Lodge through ImmiAccount

The online application covers identity, funds, employment, travel history and character questions. Pay the visa application charge on lodgement — it is not refundable if the visa is refused.

  3. Respond to any requests

Most applications are decided on the uploads alone; occasionally the department requests biometrics at a collection centre or additional documents with a deadline. We monitor the account and respond inside the window.

  4. Receive the grant notice

The grant letter arrives by email with your visa conditions, validity and stay periods. No sticker is issued — keep the letter with your travel documents and check the passport number on it is exactly right.

Common questions

There's no visa in my passport — how do I board?
Australia's visas are electronic. Airlines check your passport against the immigration database at check-in, and the grant letter is your human-readable proof. It's normal for the passport to show nothing at all.
How long can I stay?
Most tourist grants allow stays of 3 months per entry on a 12-month multiple-entry visa. The grant letter states your exact conditions — including whether further stay applications are allowed.
Can my whole family apply together?
Each person lodges their own application (children included), but the files can be prepared and submitted as a set with shared evidence — which is also how we present a family's finances most convincingly.
What trips up Filipino applications most often?
Thin or disorganised financial evidence, and leave letters that don't match the travel dates. Australia refuses incomplete applications rather than asking for more — with the charge lost — so the file must be right at lodgement.
